Thankful Thursday
Three things I am thankful for today:
Mike comes home tomorrow. Though I am very proud of my ambitious chef, I would prefer for him to be here! The house is lonely w/out him. Maybe I need an animal.
My job. Sitting in a meeting today I realized how lucky I am to work where I work with the people I work with.
My office (the actual kind with a door). It may not have a window but it has a...
Today's Thursday Tip
Do not take a month off of running and then think that you can just jump back on the ‘mill.
I did this on Monday and today is the first day that I can walk without looking a tad bit…ahem…off this week. Tonight will be my first night back in the gym. Debating on whether I should take it easy or keep conditioning these muscules to remember that it’s normal to run 3-4 miles...
Vacation.
The best vacation I ever took in my life was in Portugal - the Azores and Lisbon the summer of 2001. The problem with this amazing vacation? I can’t imagine ever going back since I know it won’t be the same as it was when I was 20 years old, with my best friend Michelle with NO responsibilities. I know I would have fun now, but I don’t want to tarnish those amazing memories with...

Seriously, I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t like Mexican food. Is that even possible?
It isn’t possible. However, I wonder if they’ve only tried bad Mexican food? Have they tasted a Californian taqueria burrito? That is pure magic. For my upcoming trip to NY, I definitely need to get serious and find some GOOD mexican (Rosa Mexicana need not apply).

Number one thing I need to do this week
Book my trip to London. Fellow travelers - from SFO to London it is only $660 on Virgin Atlantic. British Airways is also having a sale. Having never flown either, I don’t know which is better but the price cannot be beat!

In the past 20 minutes, I’ve made reservations for the first half of next week to:
-lunch at Pelican Inn (where we’re getting married, woot!)
-drinks at Press Club
-dinner at Presidio Social Club
-drinks at Bourbon & Branch
-dinner at Scala’s
-dinner at Foreign Cinema
My parents are going to go home exhausted—and well fed—after their four days here. There might be...
After being sick for a week, I am VERY excited for the three day weekend ahead of us (yay Martin Luther King Day!). I have a check list of things I would like to do this weekend. I will revisit Monday to determine whether these things did in fact happen.
Clean house and unpack (from both Hawaii AND Santa Cruz)
Go to Target to get more Paris/crystal themed accessories to decorate the casa
Go to...

You know it's a bad sign...
When you ask your significant other (in this case Mike) whether he’d rather watch Jersey Shore or Real Housewives of OC. Does that say anything about us that those are our two options (our DVR only allows us to record and watch two programs at once)?
For the record, he chose Jersey Shore.

Due to being sick....
Cough, cough. I haven’t been able to go out to dinner in my lovely San Francisco since last week (we were out of town on the weekend). I did not even get to attend my very best friend’s going away dinner at Velvet Cantina (which I’ve been dying to try).
This is actually a good thing, for both my waist line and my wallet, however I get stir crazy.
Therefore, when I travel...
I reiterate.

You don’t use double spaces beyond grammar school. So please stop.
I’m editing a Q&A for 7x7 in which I could simply cut and paste the quotes straight from e-mail, only the subject chose to double space between sentences so now I have to go in the whole pages-long interview and take our her spastic and superfluous...

Extremely Flawed Social Experiment: The Set Up
kiamatthews:
What is it like to experience a dating site “on the other side”? Simply asking this question is setting myself up to be butthurt and angry, but if nothing else, I love the blog fodder. Fuck This is Why You’re Fat and Shit My Dad Says and Texts From Last Night and Dealbreakers… let’s talk about someone giving me a book deal for my sad, pathetic memoirs entitled “Some Fucking Bullshit...

Jen: Are you going to complain?
Michael: I think I am.
Michael: I have to mail in a form.
Michael: Completely anonymous.
Michael: But I may go to Kinko's somewhere and print it out and mail it from a different zip code.
Jen: You've seen too many Law and Orders.
This conversation came after our watching a Law and Order episode last night where the detectives tracked a suspect from a fax machine's secret imprints it makes on all transmissions.
